::The cakes in this country are something else. Fresh-squeezed orange-grapefruit combination. It's a Muslim country so there isn't any ham. Beef, turkey, and chicken instead. Bosnian coffee is like Turkish: served in thumb-sized porcelain demitasses with a stamped copper retainer and mud at the bottom. They totally set you up. The Turkish guy told me you don't add sugar but I don't know about that. And somehow when you mix it up the mud stays at the bottom. In Israel, at the hostel (all the hostels have some variant of free serve-yourself coffee), they had Turkish coffee in a jar that you dispensed yourself. And you were supposed to wait for it to settle. But it was worse than waiting for Guinness to congeal; it just never happened. So you drank this tepid granular stick-in-your-teeth solution like it was salt water your dentist told you to gargle with. Think of translating that sentence to any other language. Is English rich in it's open syntax or do I just abuse it. Churchill: “This is the sort of bloody nonsense up with which I will not put.” David Byrne on the radio and The Clash, the Stones and Tina Turner, U2. Is it wrong to spoon up the foam dregs of cappuccino? Then I'm wrong. Tupac California Love.
