They know how to serve their cognac. Highly recommended place to visit. Great choice of music too.

I'm sorry to tell that these people do not seem to know wine.. at all. The waiter was kind in the first place, but didn't knew that much when I asked. Glass of wine: They have glasses of "red" and "white", and not specified (Farmer, year ect.). But actually, some of the bottles are great ones! The problem is just I don't know any wine nerds down here who want to share. My friends drinks beers. I assume this is the case because people generally in Bosnia do not seem to drink wine for the taste, but more for the alkohol, and then it's difficult to offer a lot of different glasses, because you have to open different bottles. I just asked to get a "red" due to the poor options and the knowledge. It was oxidised. I asked to change it, (I have actually never got oxidised wine served before, but have tasted it at home and at work - I work in a wine store and even if I'm young, I have tasted a bit and I have enough knowledge to work there at least) but the waiter told me "it was bosnian wine and a very special grape" or something.. Yeah, so you try to tell me that bosnian wine generally are not stored properly /is oxidised or that I could not taste or smell properly? He didn't wanted to comment on the smell. It was so.. revealing! I was leaving the wine there, and then after a while he asked me to pay. I didn't wanted the waiter to get the blame, because I've got told that some places then they have to pay if the kitchen or the manager does something wrong. I don't know if it's the case, but anyways I wanted to make the owner aware on it, actually to help them and because I care on the topic. Then a waiter gently showed me to the manager. I said I'm gonna pay, but that I also wanted to leave a comment and wanted him to smell on it. He just told me to wait for his "friend" which was a nice and sweet guy, but the "friend" didn't spoke english and actually asked if I wanted a drink 😂. The manager kept doing his paper-business and didn't want to speak with me. He was not of the most sympathetic people I have met, and to be honest, quite rude and arrogant. I was waiting until it got awkward and then I tried to tell him again I was going to pay, but that it wasn't OK to do this. Still, he ignored my concerns.. It was a strange experience:p Then the "friend" or waiter took the wine and the bill, and he wanted to _give me money 😂.. Very sweet action, but I refused and told him that wasn't my point. I then waited for my friends, and they didn't said anything on me sitting there for 10 mins. Then I left with a friend and the first waiter said "thank you". So, the waiters are kind in general, but lack interest and knowledge on wine, and blame in this case the costomer if the wine is not as it should be. Maybe they are used to customers that don't like the taste of wine, thus think everyone that's complaining don't know what their talking about? They also take 5 KM for a glass of unspesified wine like that.. 😕 For wine, I would recommend you to not even think about going there. But if you're going for a beer, and just thought have a place to sit, it's fine. The location is actually excellent. It's just not a place to go if you want recommendations from wine nerds. It's more of a "populistic" wine place. At least, I got a special experience and It is a bit funny.

I usually go with my friends here, but I went to this place for two nights in row, to celebrate my birthday, both nights we had awesome fun and best drinks and cocktails made by even better staff. The cutest thing ever is that each time we got chips and for my birthday we got great unique shoots. Once you try La Cava atmosphere there is no back. THEY R THE BEST!
